The organization brings Middle Eastern and North African dance artists to NYC, serving underprivileged communities to increase international understanding, and to bridge Arab and non-Arab audiences in the U.S. Torkomada empowers artists in a dynamic, inclusive and intellectually engaging environment, contributing to community and a thriving, sustainable New York City.
Awards: Torkomada has been generously supported by The National Endowment for the Arts, The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Dance/NYC, The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone, and The CUNY Dance Initiative.
